Use shops search/get, cars quote, rental options/eligibility, oneway quote, and booking handoff. Dates without an offset are JST; choose future dates within three months,30-minute increments,and a rental within one calendar month. Replace the dated examples with your dates. cars quote confirms the source's shop/date/category/options context and operating calendars before reporting class inventory.
source_estimate_jpy is Toyota's class-page rental estimate. confirmed_full_total_jpy stays null; waiver/NOC,ETC/JAF,seats,tires,model selection and one-way inclusion are not inferred. Tolls,fuel and other charges require separate confirmation. This anonymous search does not select or verify a driver/license profile; reconfirm the applicable booking rate. A class does not guarantee its representative model. oneway quote returns a date-independent surcharge and explicitly unknown dated inventory. booking handoff only prefills the pickup shop; re-enter dates,return shop,class and options on Toyota.
Live planning results include UTC fetch time,upstream request count,response bytes and elapsed milliseconds. Requests use in-memory anonymous cookies,adaptive source throttling,a14-request cap and2MiB response limit; --timeout bounds the whole operation. Inventory is fetched live. The optional framework local store never establishes current inventory. No bookings,payments,terms acceptance or personal documents are submitted. The source mirror commands return page metadata and links; open their source URLs for full policy text.

Paths & environment variables
This CLI separates local files into four path kinds:

Under TOYOTA_RENTACAR_HOME=/srv/toyota-rentacar, the four dirs resolve to /srv/toyota-rentacar/config, /srv/toyota-rentacar/data, /srv/toyota-rentacar/state, and /srv/toyota-rentacar/cache.

Precedence matters in fleets: an ambient per-kind variable such as TOYOTA_RENTACAR_DATA_DIR overrides an explicit --home for that kind. Use TOYOTA_RENTACAR_HOME or the per-kind variables for durable fleet relocation; treat --home as the weaker per-invocation lever.
Relocation is one-way. Unsetting TOYOTA_RENTACAR_HOME does not move files back to platform defaults, and doctor cannot find files left under a former root. Move the files manually before unsetting relocation variables.
Existing installs keep working because the platform-default rung matches the legacy layout. Run toyota-rentacar-pp-cli doctor --fail-on warn to check path warnings in automation.

Self-learning loop
This CLI caches per-question discovery so repeat queries skip the walk and structurally similar queries get answered via entity substitution. The loop also self-captures: every invocation is journaled locally, and failed-flag corrections plus fresh teaches surface as candidates on the next recall for confirm/reject judgment. Pass --no-learn or set TOYOTA_RENTACAR_NO_LEARN=true to disable the loop for deterministic flows.
The local store's schema version stamp is one-way: once this version of toyota-rentacar-pp-cli opens the database, older binaries refuse it with a version error — upgrade the binary rather than downgrading.

Configuration
Run toyota-rentacar-pp-cli doctor to see the resolved config, data, state, and cache directories. The platform-default config path is ``; --home, TOYOTA_RENTACAR_HOME, and per-kind env vars can relocate it.
Static request headers can be configured under headers; per-command header overrides take precedence.
Troubleshooting
Not found errors (exit code 3)

API-specific
- Toyota returns a source error or changed rental dates. — Choose dates within three months and a return after pickup,then retry using the canonical booking URL in the error.
- No fully confirmed total. — Open booking handoff and verify all extras,one-way fees and final total on Toyota before payment.
